German Chamomile essential oil has some of the most pronounced anti-inflammatory and anti-allergenic properties in therapeutic application.  GC seems to synergize very well with helichrysum to speed healing of wounds, burns and has been particularly helpful in soothing allergies (at least living local in San Luis Obispo observed in a small circle of friends using this blend for allergies applied at a few drops under the nose). The hydrosol is quite a miraculous by-product for reducing inflammation, soothing burns, vitalizing skin and makes a wonderful mouthwash ingredient.

German Chamomile essential oil is quite soothing and dreamy - I’ve enjoyed and experienced a deeper quality/lucidity of dreams after application into the soles of feet before bedtime.  Infused into a carrier oil creates a powerful healing solution which soothes burns, skin irritation and calms inflammation.  This solution may also be rubbed over the stomach to soothe upset and relieve gas and bloating.  Women can apply this oil over the womb and deeply inhale to ease in menstrual cramps.

The blue colour renowned in German Chamomile essential oil is expressed from the Chamazulene which is actually a by-product of the steam distillation process through the heating of its inherent constituents.  Of important note, German chamomile can greatly affect liver metabolism of other pharmaceutical drugs and use should be evaluated with a licensed physician who is knowledgeable of essential oils and natural medicine.
