Dr. Nick Notes
In 2010, I worked with a well-respected dermatologist in Encino who took only one supplement daily: Turmeric extract. This specialist claimed that he was convinced from his research that people who eat turmeric live longer. "This is why people who live in India have such long life spans, turmeric-rich curry is a common staple in Indian diet."
Our Organic Turmeric CO2 Extract is quite pronounced, quietly spicy and full of flavor. Turmeric essential oil will stain clothing and is quite viscous and sticky - I enjoy ingesting Turmeric essential oil by adding 1-3 drops into a pot of veggie chili or infused into the salad dressing of a large family size portion of salad. Sometimes I will add Turmeric CO2 Extract to my morning smoothies or take several drops internally in a capsule.
It's difficult to fully quantify my experience in working with this oil as my usage is inconsistent. Love the flavor, the pungent fragrance and how fresh it appeals. I've enjoyed adding a few drops into honey jars to really spice up the therapeutic benefits of honey! I've noticed when I take about 10-15 drops in a capsule, about 20-45 minutes later, my awareness/vision seems to expand and my focus hones in. Turmeric Essential Oil & Turmeric Extracts are powerful supplements ~ If you are looking for a quality source of 100% pure organic Turmeric Essential Oil, we are delighted you found this potent Organic Turmeric CO2 Extract!

FAQs
Turmeric CO2 Extract is produced through supercritical carbon dioxide extraction of Curcuma longa root, capturing both the volatile aromatic compounds and the non-volatile curcuminoids, including curcumin, that give turmeric its renowned anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. This differs fundamentally from turmeric powder or standard essential oil. Steam-distilled turmeric oil contains mostly volatile sesquiterpenes with little curcumin content. The CO2 extract gives you a broader spectrum of the plant's bioactive compounds in a concentrated, highly bioavailable form.
Turmeric CO2 is prized for its curcumin content, which has been extensively studied for anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, neuroprotective, and joint-supportive properties. Topically, it can be used in skin care formulas for brightening, reducing inflammation, and supporting wound healing. It is also used in massage blends for joint and muscle support. The aromatic profile of the CO2 extract is warm, spicy, and slightly earthy, making it a useful ingredient in both therapeutic and perfumery applications. Its broader chemical profile compared to the distilled oil means more of the plant's traditional benefits are accessible.
Turmeric CO2 should always be diluted in a carrier oil before topical use, typically at 0.5 to 1 percent. It can be added to facial serums, body oils, and massage blends. One important note is that turmeric can stain fabrics and temporarily tint skin yellow if used in high concentrations, so use mindfully and protect clothing and towels. For joint support, dilute in a warming carrier like black seed oil or castor oil and massage into affected areas. For skin care, pair with rosehip seed oil or jojoba for a brightening, anti-inflammatory facial blend.
Turmeric CO2 has a warm, spicy, earthy character that pairs naturally with other warming spice oils like ginger, black pepper, cinnamon and cardamom. Frankincense and myrrh complement its resinous depth. For anti-inflammatory massage blends, combine it with helichrysum, copaiba, and a gentle carrier like arnica infused oil. In fragrance blending, turmeric adds warmth and complexity that works well alongside sandalwood, patchouli, and vetiver. A small amount of sweet orange or bergamot brightens the blend and lifts the spice notes.
Turmeric CO2 is generally skin safe when used in appropriate dilutions of 0.5 to 1 percent. Its primary caution is staining. It can leave a yellowish tint on skin and will permanently stain fabric, so use carefully. Patch test before use, particularly if you have sensitive or reactive skin. Avoid use around the eyes. As with any potent botanical extract, consult your healthcare provider before use if you are pregnant, nursing, or taking blood-thinning medications, as curcumin may have mild anticoagulant effects at high concentrations.
